Little Baddow Churches

St Mary’s is at the North Western corner of the village with lovely views across the fields to the Chelmer Navigation. It is a friendly church with a mixed age congregation and we are always delighted to see new faces.
As well as our Sunday and Thursday morning services there are active groups for all ages to be involved in. We have strong links with other local churches in the village and we share our priest with
St John's at Danbury, an adjoining parish. Two services each month are shared with the United Reformed Church in Little Baddow as well as other ecumenical activities
Our churchmanship is mostly Eucharistic, with vestments and the third Sunday in the month has a lay led family service. There is a group for mothers and toddlers (Edward Bear), a Sunday School that joins the congregation part way through the service and a Too Old For Sunday School (TOFSS) group of teenagers
St. Mary’s supports various charities in particular a Burmese refugee camp situated in Thailand. The camp at Umpium relies on our support to pay for the teachers in this long term camp. This longstanding relationship has been strengthened by support from the United Reformed Church (URC) and visits from the ethnic Burmese that are settled in the U.K.

Priest in Charge, Reverend Clive Ashley retired in September 2017.
